Club Penguin Lane Merrifield - BC Business Mag Shoot

March 4th, 2008

logosz1.jpgLast week I shot Lane Merrifield, the CEO of Club Penguin outside their Kelowna office, for the crossroads section of BC Business Magazine. The art director over there was great to work with and spending a little time with Lane was great. The issue hits stands in April, and I have included a couple of shots.. (they did let me know which image was selected.. and these two were not the winners) I will post the published image and article when it is out in April.

My son, who is a little young for it, has his own penguin to waddle around.. truth be told it is mostly me doing all the work. It is such a cool product.. and I seem to be always making penguin pizzas!

This was a great shoot, and everyone at Club Penguin who I dealt with were fantastic.

March 4th, 2008

I added a new service page to the site this morning, to help out with some of the email inquiries that are coming in about certain services that I do not promote to heavily.

keeping up to a monkey - can be hard

February 22nd, 2008

Lately things keep rolling strong on the business front, in which should be a “slow” time for us. It’s hardly slow at all. Another apology goes out for some of my slow responses to emails and voicemail. Also to my booked 08 wedding clients I have a pile of agreements to complete and return to you. I have not forgotten just been slow getting to that fun admin stuff.

Recently I talked with a new assistant that will be helping me out, to help keep up with things and especially help out during shoots. She should be a great addition to the team over here and you should be seeing more of her, expecially if we have some scheduled shoots coming up. We worked together recently on a shoot of a great spirit named Jessica. It was a fun session, but we walked away with great images.

Here is a shot of Jessica:

Still like the “Painter” shoot I did for Rogers Publishing, I am sure it was a little different then they planned, but their Art Director is a great guy, and I think they dug it.. at least the cheque still came in. Travis .. if from any chance in hell you actually read this post, I still have the portraits to send your way. ..Sooon

This shot from the summer, I did for Madhouse still sticks with me as a great shoot. Which reminds me, We have thrown our hat into the talent side of things, bascially I just happen to know beautiful people, and some of them have agreed to work with me again — weird. For my commercial clients we have a talent section of all ages that will be available, if we need talent involved in a project of course. So finally instead of dealing with a selection of 15 year old girls to pick from, I offer a selection that covers all ages and demographics. More on this a wee bit later.

Actually one more thing about that.. if you are looking for shots and the chance to work as a model - drop me an email, so we can have chat.

The shoot I did with Mod Salon was another great experience, and now the material has been printed and looks fantastic. Cory did a great job with the calendars, and as always Amy is wicked.

February Updates From the Studio

February 8th, 2008

Greetings all,First off, its been awhile since I gave some updates on what’s going on over here.. and there has been a few emails that I hope to answer with this post. Things are normally alot slower around this time of year, but that has not been the case this year. At this point I am almost at capacity for weddings for the 08 season. There are a few summer dates available but we are close to completely booking up. On the commercial side things have been great. I have been working with Rogers Publishing out of Toronto, a few local businesses, and recently came off a multi-day shoot for Teresan Gas. I will post further details once the images get closer or are in publication. I have attached a couple of sneaks from the Teresan shoots… img_4425.jpg img_6035.jpg  Also a small update on the hullStock project… things are getting closer…and the site should launch shortly. A few bugs are still being found and fixed.. but things are looking good. Here is a quick screen … picture-1.jpgThe V-day love sessions are sold out as well. Unless you don;t mind shooting after the 14th. <grin>That seems to be the latest for now…. I should have some images to post.. but you always play that game of..I really want to post the latest stuff…. but still allowing your client enough time to do what they need to do first.. .u dig
